The Rest of the World Has Some Awesome Electric Vehicles

The Renault Zoe is one of the most popular EVs in Europe, and costs only $32,728 new and has a range of 245 miles on a charge. The Cupra Born looks great and has a range of 341 miles. You can get a new Citroën Ë-C3 for $25,334, but only in France. The Buick Velite 6 (shown above) is only $15,710 -in China. You can find even less expensive electric vehicles in other parts of the world that aren't available at all in the US. Why? There are a range of reasons, but it mainly boils down to the idea that American drivers who are ready to try an EV don't want small vehicles, so it's not worth the trouble to set up the import infrastructure. Meanwhile, gas prices are so high in Europe that everyone is looking to convert to electric, and China has millions of people going straight from bicycles to EVs. Get a look at 18 of the best electric vehicles you won't see anytime soon in the US at Jalopnik.
