Every year, Consumer Reports compiles data from their Annual Auto Surveys, this year involving the owners of more than 330,000 vehicles. For cars manufactured from 2000 to 2023, they found the most reliable cars are as follows:
Toyota Highlander Hybrid
Toyota Corolla
Acura RDX
Toyota RAV4
Subaru Forester
BMW X5
Toyota RAV4 Prime
Toyota Camry
Toyota Camry Hybrid
Toyota 4Runner
I can vouch for Camrys. At one time a couple of years ago, I had three of them, models '97, '02. and '17. The older cars had more than a quarter million miles each, but refused to die. They've each had a half-dozen owners in the same family. It's still pretty impressive to see seven of the ten most reliable cars sporting the Toyota name. Read the pros and cons of each model at Jalopnik.
